The Team

From a young age Aaditya has had a unique admiration for STEM; building Lego and solving puzzles being some of his earliest core memories. Since this has evolved into a love for engineering and robotics today.

Aaditya describes engineering as an industry that covers the intricate complexity of everyday structures into seamlessly elegant designs. He takes pleasure in overlooking the reward technology with its benefits, preferring to figure out how things work.

Currently studying: Computing, History, French and Design Technology

Amarleen is a huge fan of Star Trek and Doctor Who, with a passion for musicals, as an aspiring songwriter and piano player. With a deep and knowledgeable understanding of STEM encompassing all areas of society.

Amarleen describes engineering as one of her most fascinating subject interests; due to it's ability to link together different aspects of STEAM to provide a practical base to deal with societal problems. It combines her  passions for physics and maths into something that allows for opportunities to be made, which positively impact on society and improve the world for future generations. 

Currently Studying: A-Level Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths

Aparna enjoys everything and anything that promotes sustainability and eco-friendly practices - so much so she gets stuck in with gardening when not studying or engaging in public speaking debates.

Aparna advises she tires of people assumptions that her chosen subjects in education should mean she is destined to work in medicine. She actually aspires to study Human Sciences, an interdisciplinary STEAM degree that combines all the subjects that spark her interests and passion, which will support her future ambition to supporting more women into STEM, whilst developing a career where she can make a positive impact on the world

Currently Studying: A-Level Biology, Chemistry and Maths

Chiara wants to learn more about STEAM roles that connect with humanities. She has high aspirations to became a Civil Engineer or an Architect because of her love designing and possibility of reshaping this world with architecture and providing a roof for everyone to feel safe in. 

In her spare time, Chiara  enjoys participating in DIYs, exploring the outdoors, designing, swimming , cycling and watching movies from the MCU, fiction/fantasy such as Harry Potter and LOTR and action films

Currently Studying: GCSE's Art, Drama, Spanish, History and Italian 

Chloe enjoys teaching her older brother and younger sister about STEAM, and is an active athlete, participating in triathlons, swimming, netball and lacrosse. 

Currently in year 9, she enjoys all of her subjects but has a huge affinity for STEAM subject disciplines in general. Chloe advises that they all offer a huge variety and offer endless facts that blow her mind everyday. She ranks Maths as her most favourite as she enjoys problem solving.

Fred advises that he has always had a fascination in the world around him. He describes how he is enthralled by the way the world works and the hidden innovation that enables our general way of life, which fuels his passion to develop a career in STEAM one day!

When he's not studying he is an active athlete and competes in various athletics and cross-country events. He is a huge fan and player of D&D (if you know you know!) enjoys stargazing, reading, participating in Maths Olympiads, Physics Challenges,  researching various STEAM subjects and coding with his Raspberry Pi (with recent  experience of running a primary school coding club)

Harriet knew from a young age that science and creativity was the way forward for her to make an impact on society, and the world, after her first visits to the Royal Institute’s Summer Science Exhibition and The Royal Observatory with her family. 

She aspires to care for and learn about our environment as she aims to contributing to the government's goal of hitting net zero by 2050.

Harriet enjoys getting involved within the creative arts landscape and in her spare time participates in activities linked to Drama, Singing, Dancing, Music, Reading, Design and Creative Writing.

Currently Studying: GCSE Drama, French, History, Geography and Further Maths

Jasmine (or JJ as she is known amongst her friends) has a huge passion for STEM, especially the more scientific and natural side of it as she really enjoys Biology, Chemistry and the environment. Currently she is looking to take both biology and chemistry for 2 of my A-levels! In the future she is keen to  work within the field of environmental sciences, or within conservation. She is keen to advocate for the younger generation to have their ideas heard and considered when it comes to making the world a better pace through STEM. 

JJ loves to dance, act and play music which she does a lot of, both inside and outside of school. 

Currently Studying: GCSE's  Geography, Health and Social Care, Drama and French  

Josya wants to help challenged or disadvantaged people by using modern technology's abilities to assist them to help make their lives better. STEAM, as Josya advises, is a landscape that presents challenges in which education today can and will change for the better.

 Year 9 Josya enjoys exploring Engineering by experimenting with new projects and creating solutions that are eco-friendly and assist others.

Outside of school, Josya enjoys attending The Royal Institution lectures and participating in STEM events and competitions, along with engaging with music, art and drama activities and playing the piano.

Science and Product Design

 Millie, or as she is known on twitter, 'STEMillie', is a 16 year old aspiring Scientist, Engineer and Maker. 

When not in school, she can be found in her garden, kitchen or bedroom creating, making and collaborating with various STEAM influencers and organisations in the UK. 

She has a huge passion and ambition to help others succeed and explore STEAM. 

As our original and first SYD, she will be helping support and lead our amazing young team within The STEM Project to new levels of success and opportunity

Currently Studying:  GCSEs Design Technology, Art, History, French, English, Maths and Science

Starting a Motor Vehicle Mechanics course September 2023.

Nathanael, goes by the nickname NT. He enjoys learning about all sectors of STEM but has special affinity for Technology and Computer science. and aspires to become a data analyst or work in cyber security and is currently weighing up his options of attending Cambridge or get a degree apprenticeship in computer science.

He has powerful ambitions in the future to help develop his home country by investing in projects to build more modern buildings and eco-friendly features that cause less harm to the environment.

 He also volunteers and was key in helping his local community group in Newham obtain the support from fifteen local business to support them as they help build safe havens for youths who are in danger. In his spare time he bakes, books and participates in Muay Thai, football and coding.

Currently Studying: A Level Economics, Computer science and Psychology 

Ever since Namay flew for the first time in a plane as a child, his fascination with aerospace grew; with aspirations today to become an aerospace engineer. Namay describes wanting to use his knowledge of physics to design aircraft that are as efficient, renewable and thrilling as possible in the future (wanting to share his  similar inspiring child-hood experience with others in the future)

Outside of education, Namay enjoys reading and is a keen Chess player.

 STEM has always and will continue to be Noor's favourite subject, hobby, and motivation.

She has a passion for research and want to pursue a career as a full-time researcher and dedicate her work towards a bigger cause.

For her16th Birthday she received a microscope, and is currently using it to support her research on life on Earth and Venus, whilst postulating how possible life on Venus is! She plans to either publish her findings as a paper or present it in different STEM competitions. 

 Alongside STEM she also enjoy's Taekwondo and is working toward getting her black belt. She is also part of the RAF Cadets where she  a Corporal and recently participated in the Lord Mayors parade. Noor loves music and also plays two musical instruments, the French Horm and Cello, which she advised really helps to de stress!

Oliver has always been attracted to the idea of conquering the unknown and helping others to further our understanding of the limitations that we set ourselves. Oliver advises that many of us believe our fascinations are out of our reach; to overcome this he strives to find answers to these questions, whilst helping  others do the same, breaking this thought of not being able to achieve the unachievable.

Oliver is ready to explore the world of physics and engineering in aerospace, to achieve a greater understanding of various STEAM subjects.

Om credits STEM as playing a key role in helping him through education; from shaping his mathematical problem solving skills to introducing him to the field of engineering and revolutionary physics theories. He advises his biggest achievement to date was his GCSE Product Design Project, in which he was awarded at the National Big Bang Fair after successfully designing a leg brace for his neighbour; supporting them in regaining their mobilisation and enabling them to able to walk outdoors again. 

 Om enjoys playing music on the keyboard and exploring new 3D modelling designs and coding techniques on his laptop.

Currently Studying: A Level Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Product Design. 

Onyinye finds STEM to fascinating, especially when it comes to Science and Technology.  She has a passion for Space and enjoys researching how it came to existence, which makes her keen to find more information about it, 

 Onyinye believes STEAM is the hope for our future as it inspires curiosity to the younger generation and empowers us all to promote creativity and exploration to find the solutions to societal problems.  She advises that STEAM embraces  technical and artistic (creative) skills of young individuals as well as expressing their innovation . It encourages a positive attitude towards any issues and how to solve them no matter how ‘difficult’. .

Onyinye enjoys cooking and baking (and sees it as a form of relaxation) She enjoys

travelling and adventure along with swimming, horse riding and archery.​

Currently Studying: GCSE's Computer Science, Geography, IT Media and Food Technology 

Ovee is keen to take urgent action to tackle climate change. She is passionate about the environment and relishes the opportunity to use her skills and knowledge gained from previously supporting The Royal Society and Kings College London in becoming more aware of Climate Change, presenting at various conferences showcasing their innovative Weather Station design.

Ovee loves all sciences, in particular Biology and Chemistry. She has a passion to in sports and volunteers at her local primary school in this subject. She enjoys playing cards, reading, speed skating, swimming and ten pin bowling.

Currently Studying: GCSE Product Design, German, History and Computing

Rebekah advises that the use of AI, big data and creative thinking all need to be integrated into tackling issues such as climate change, sustainability, energy and food production and is keen to explore these further!

Having already experienced research and project design (Bright Ideas Competition: Converting Food Waste into Clean Energy) she is now keen to explore and further her research experience into STEAM subjects, specifically the foundation they provide by being our building blocks for real world concepts and teaching the next generation about critical thinking skills. In her spare time,  Rebekah plays the violin as part of the school ensemble and enjoys outdoor pursuits such as hiking, walking, cycling and exploring her creative side by baking and experimenting with LEGO designs

Ruhi is  fascinated by black and white holes aspires to pursue a career in space research to discover more about them. She will soon be picking her GCSE options and would like to take business, economics, further maths, and triple sciences.

Ruhi is interested in supporting activity connected to and  involving space research, music, and sustainability; with a strong and belief that they will all have an impact on us in the future.

She is very passionate about music and plays multiple instruments. She is  currently preparing for my grade 5 flute exam, grade one piano exam and recently started learning the saxophone. 

In her free time, she also plays netball at her local club and participates in regular matches and tournaments against other clubs.

From a young age, Sanjita was raised in an environment where there was not only a high priority for education but also around being knowledgeable and giving back to the society we are part of through generosity and respect. This led to her interest in reading books from a range of genres all which allowed her to understand and appreciate everyone’s contrasting views and insights on life and incorporate lessons.

Recently, Sanjita has found a love for programming websites and tailoring them to reflect her personality and moods whilst also gearing her designs to reflect her whilst engaging with a vast range of audiences. She continues to improve her programming skills and is investing her time into activities which increase her confidence and to help break stereotypes surrounding ethnic women in computer science by becoming a voice and an example to many young girls in order for women in STEM to consistently increase through the future generations.

Saskia crocheted her mascot STEAM Frog, to represent her STEAM Journey.

From the age of 7 Saskia has been been able to attend (and present) at some of the UK's largest and most engaging science communication events; Big Bang Fair, New Scientist Live, Comic Con, British interactive group, Einstein's Garden and at the age of 9, was afforded the title of being the youngest person ever to present at The Royal Institution as part of a Liquid nitrogen Show with her parents. 

With an affinity to learn STEAM in every surrounding, year 9 Saskia spends her down time engaging with the creative arts of acting, ballet and modern dance. She plays the Cello and camps often with the Scouts and is currently working through the duke of Edinburgh Scheme. 

She aspires to combine her creative skills with science and communication.

From a young age, Soleil always been inspired by science, and as she has grown, she has realised the importance skills can have that are developed through independent growth and receiving a STEAM education in how they are helping her succeed in everyday life and education. She aspires to become a role model for other young women and girls of colour to show them that STEM careers are engaging, not boring or impossible to enter.

Away from education Soleil is an experienced athlete and has been known to be involved with a vast array of sporting activities, stemming from her active participation into competitive cheerleading from the age of 6.

She taught her self to play piano and took this subject at GCSE to further her passion for the discipline. She also enjoys reading a wide mix of genres and watches Anime.
